Wings Fund
A good idea shouldn't stall over a few dollars.
Status: opening soon. Not taking requests yet. Here is how the fund works, and how to get your budget ready.
A team of adults checks every request, and every dollar is written down.
Three steps
How the fund will grow
First step
1. Supplies request
List what your project needs and what it costs. Your mentor and ICC check it. ICC buys the items or pays you back.
Coming later
2. Club budget
Active clubs get a small budget to spend together. Every purchase is asked for, approved, and written down.
ICC will decide
3. Raising money
A way for a club to take donations through ICC, with the books open for anyone to read. This needs ICC's board before anything is promised.
A request, start to finish
01
You ask
Pick your project, list the items and prices, and say why.
02
Your mentor checks
The first adult makes sure it is reasonable.
03
ICC approves
The second adult signs off. Two adults, every time.
04
ICC pays
ICC buys it or reimburses you, and writes down how.
Get ready
Planning your project budget
01
List your supplies
Write down what your project will need: materials, tools, or space.
02
Estimate costs
Put a rough number next to each supply, even if it's a guess for now.
03
Note possible support
Consider people, organizations, or local partners who might be able to help.
04
Keep records
Keep clear notes and receipts for anything you spend, from the start.
Where things stand
Step 1 opens once ICC has set money aside for it. Until then, get your budget ready so you can ask the day it opens. You need a mentor first. If your project doesn't have one yet, ICC is working on matching you.
